GRE (Graduate Record Examination)
GRE officially run identical tests that are an enrollment obligation for many graduate schools in United States and in other English speaking countries. This test is used by universities to weigh up a individual’s position for the graduate level study. There are four modules in total which include Verbal reasoning, Quantitative reasoning, Critical thinking and Analytical writing skills.
If we talk about score then for Quantitative and Verbal reasoning assessments, the scores range from 130 to 170 points and for Analytical writing section, score range from 0.0 to 6.0, half point in growth. There are two verbal section and math in GRE. The first section of both is not computerized, but difficulty of second section is depends on how well you done first section. In GRE essay section is mainly on computer.
Students have the option to register online or by mail as per the availability of date and venue. They have to create a GRE account to register for test and to view scores.
STEPS FOR REGISTRATION OF GRE TEST
Check reschedule and cancellation policies before registration.
Read instruction regarding ID REQUIREMENT. Please bring valid and acceptable ID.
Create my GRE account to register online and you details should match your identification documents.
Make payment $190 if you are from outside USA and $150 if you are from USA.
Schedule your test date.
Report at test centre well before at least 15 minutes as formalities need to be completed and make sure to co-operate with test center rules.
Give your test and achieve desired score.
VALIDITY AND RE-TAKES
GRE is valid for 5 years and your score sheet would reflect the score history. If you are unable to get the desired score in GRE, they have provided an option for re-appear as well. Students are advised not to appear for GRE unless they are fully prepared in-order to avoid numerous score history. This ultimately affect you current score card.
REPORTING AND TIME
You have to register your test according to suitable date, time and location. You have to report at test centre 15 minutes prior your test starts. The whole test will take around 3 hours and 45 to 50 minutes. During your test session you will be allowed to take a 10 minutes break.
